Whew! I'm way behind on posts here! Back in July my husband and I had an engagement shoot with Nycole and Brad. It took a little bit for everyone to loosen up - but it turned out to be a very nice shoot! We look forward to the bridals and wedding next year! There's more from this set in the portfolio on our website (see post below), but here's a couple of my favorites.

Website Updated!
It's been a crazy, crazy time lately... new job, lots of freelance, and lots of photography post processing. I finally came to a small break in work and was able to update the portfolio section of the website. Take a look and tell me what you think!

{Jennifer + Brice 06.07.08}
What can I say?! There's nothing better than shooting a wedding for a friend (and fellow photographer)- especially when she's the most animated bride EVER and they are the absolute cutest couple ever. Jennifer and Brice were married in Anton, TX, about 30 minutes from Lubbock (where we stayed), so we made the trip, and it was completely worth it! The setting was dark (not good for a photographer) but extremely ROMANTIC. It was such a perfect setting for these two.
We had such a BLAST and the families were just wonderful - we felt like family members the minute we met them. On with the pictures!
a few details...
He did good picking out her ring!
Cute - Cute!
It was just a LITTLE breezy in West Texas that weekend...
I know I'm behind a bit - these have been done, I just hadn't blogged about them yet :)

{Ashala + David Wedding}
What fun we (& the family) had at the wedding of Ashala & David on May 3rd! All went off without a hitch even though the groom got into a minor fender bender on the way to the hotel to get dressed (eek!!) The festivities were held at the Astin Mansion in Bryan, including a horse-drawn carriage and a Playstation 2 groom's cake!
the fantastic grooms cake, with all the details
what a sweet moment during the ceremony!
Bride and groom dancing
And thanks to my husband, also my second shooter, for this wonderful shot of the father / daughter dance!

{Jennifer's bridals}
It was just us girls for this shoot. It's so nice when working with a personal friend and fellow photographer on a photo shoot! Jennifer is the easiest person I've worked with to date. We both had different ideas and it was so much fun trying them out - and laughing when they didn't quite work! ha!
A few favs of the day...
I can't wait to shoot their wedding in June!

{Jennifer+Brice Engagement} & more
I'm a little behind... so I'm trying to get caught up with a few posts today.
Last month I shot engagements for Jennifer and Brice. We had a good time but we had to beat the bluebonnets! They just don't last long enough in my opinion, but we all love them while they last :)

Circles of Love
Last week, I finally had time to play a little with my new Fujifim S5 Pro
after the craziness of Christmas!
It just so happened that it was my birthday last Wednesday (we won't go into which one!) and my husband was nice enough to get me a dozen pink roses. He knew I'd enjoy getting them, but he also knew I'd enjoy playing with them!
Here's a couple of wedding ring shots & roses:

A Presidential Decade
Last month I was fortunate enough to be able to shoot photos for the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the George Bush Presidential Library & Museum. I had to get media credentials and get approved by Secret Service to be able to move freely in front of the public crowd that arrived. (Even my camera gear had to be sniffed by the K9 Federal Agent, named Simon!)
Former President Bush made a surprise entrance to the event:
And when they announced the arrival, everyone was watching the skies:
President Bush ended his speech with a GIG 'EM to all the Aggies in the crowd:
After the ceremony and lunch, the newly renovated museum was open to the public:

A "Commemorative" Photo Shoot
I was able to shoot some night shots of the George Bush Presidential Library recently for a commemorative publication in honor of the library's 10th Anniversary. I had a great time and was glad that the shot "in my head" actually came out like I'd hoped.
The Cover Shot
I was glad the security guard walking around didn't mind (or notice!)
me up on the wall surrounding the library with my tripod!
After the building shots, I went over to the horse statue and got a few night shots of those as well.
I had forgotten how much I liked night shots & long exposures!
